Before choosing a material

01

Define the chemical exposure

A general description such as corrosion-resistant is not a complete specification. Identify the process, contact material, atmosphere and exposure cycle. Existing slag or melt analysis and the damage location help the technical team assess candidate materials.

02

Keep composition requirements explicit

The catalogue includes chrome-bearing materials. State any customer restrictions on chromium and whether alternatives should be evaluated. Confirm the actual composition and the selected grade’s documentation rather than inferring it from the product family name.

03

Prepare a focused enquiry

Share the current grade, shape, installation position and the problem you want to address. A photo and a short description are enough to begin; comparative testing and final acceptance limits can be discussed for a defined requirement.
