01

Before work starts

Check the approved drawing revision, material identification, storage condition and quantity schedule. Confirm the condition of supporting steelwork, anchors and adjacent lining. Resolve dimensional and access issues before closing the lining or committing to a casting sequence.

02

During brickwork and casting

Follow the agreed material-specific installation method. Record brick alignment and joints, expansion provisions, anchor details, mixing water, working time and curing conditions as applicable. Material choice and installation workmanship both affect the completed lining.

03

During dry-out and startup

Use the selected lining’s approved dry-out procedure and the agreed plant startup plan. Establish temperature-monitoring points, ventilation and responsibilities. Review readiness with the operating team and retain the temperature records with the handover documents.

04

During operation and maintenance

Track operating changes, shell-temperature trends, local wear and repair activity. At an outage, compare the actual damage pattern with the original design assumptions. Use the findings to decide whether to retain the grade, change a zone, improve the installation detail or adjust maintenance practice.
